Prepare To Be Boarded

Captain’s Log – Star Date July 15, 2012

Ahoy there, landlubbers. Today was an excellent day to wake up at morning’s first light and visit ye old dive shop to buy presents for mine family and friends. The grub this morning was exceptionally good, with Jeff’s homemade banana bread and a good serving of grape Capri Sun. Nothin’ better but rum itself says I. Me crew and I went aboard the Sea Dragon and rode off to the Jesuit Coral Reef on the most west part of Virgin Gorda. Having acquired my captain’s hat, we went down below the waters of the great unknown in search of elk horn and staghorn coral, both sturdy enough to withstand the constant erosion that comes off the island’s road and able to genetically enhance itself and offspring to better withstand the volatile nature of the waters. I, of course, would blow the attackers of the reef out of the water and into Davy Jone’s Locker, but Casey and Brian decided to go the soft hearted way. We labeled each piece of staghorn and elkhorn coral and recorded it on our waterproof paper, keeping track of the amount of coral we planted, a staggering number of 52 pieces of coral. Alas, these pieces will grow to create the greatest reef the world has seen. Afterwards, we disassembled our equipment and set it at port, aiding our guides for their next adventure. We took naps then after and awoke to eat dinner at Mad Dog’s, wraps and Mac n’ cheese. A great day.
