Today we woke up at 6:45 for another early start. After I got up and got ready for the day, I went to the wifi room to submit my blog. After I submitted my blog, it was time to go to the Olde Yard. Once we got there, we ate breakfast and Laura gave a lecture over fish identification. The lecture included all different types of marine life, including sponges, echinoderms, and cnidarians. After the lecture, we took a taxi to Savannah Bay to snorkel and apply what we learned about the fish identification to the actual water. Once we started snorkeling, we saw a lot of different types of coral, such as elk horn, stag horn, and fire coral. The fire coral have nematocysts that irritate your skin. Also while we were snorkeling, we saw plenty of jellyfish and sea urchins. The jellyfish were a lot bigger than the ones we saw yesterday. After about 30 minutes, we got out of the water and had lunch on the beach. After lunch, we played frisbee and went snorkeling again. Then we went to the marina in order to dive at The Chimney. I was on the boat called the Sea Dragon. Then, we headed out and began getting our gear ready to dive. My dive buddy was Luke Curran. This was a great dive, because we saw so many of the fish that we had talked about earlier in the day. We even saw a porcupine puffer fish. We went through a small opening in the formation, which I found to be very fun. After the dive, we took a taxi back to Guavaberry to get ready for mass. I took a shower and we headed over to the local Catholic Church for mass. Mass was about 45 minutes and then we headed back to our cabins to get ready for a barbecue on the beach and then a night snorkel later on. For dinner, we had burgers and bratwurst, which were fantastic. I also had Hawaiian Punch for drink, which was very good. After dinner, we got suited up in a wet suit and were given a flashlight for a night dive. After we finished getting ready, we finally got in the water and saw many things. Many fish were just sitting there idle and others were very much alive. I saw lot of shrimp and small minnows. However, I also saw very large fish, such as tarpon and a sting ray. We even saw a couple of octopus. This night snorkel was very exhilarating. After the night snorkel, we packed up our stuff and headed back to Guavaberry to write our blogs.
