Day 4 in BVI

1

Today started out really nicely. I slept in until ten minutes before we had to be down at the front gate and then had to rush really quickly while packing all my stuff together and race down to the front gate. After our taxi ride down to the marina we ate egg omelets, bacon, and banana bread. After our lovely breakfast we headed down to our boat to start getting our gear ready for our coral transplant project. After our 15 min boat ride over to long bay we started out with an hour long snorkel surveying the area for good coral to use for relocation project. Once done with the snorkeling we headed back to the boat, ate snacks, and got briefed for our first dive. During our first dive we went dove for 56 mins at a depth of 25 feet. During this dive we swam around searching for stag horn and elk horn coral so that we could remove a couple parts of it in order to relocate it and save the unhealthy coral. Once done with this dive we went back up to the boats to go have a some lunch. After lunch we went back out for dive number two. During dive number two we went down to 35 feet at a depth for 55 minutes. During this dive we replanted our coral on certain pieces of rock in order for it to regrow and produce a new habitat for marine animals. While done there I got stung by fire coral and it stung for a little bit. After we were done replanting we came back up and went back to the island. Once back at the island we all got our nice clothes on and headed up to church. The church was in a really cool location on top of a massive hill over looking the whole island. Once done with mass we came back down to the huts and headed out to mad dogs for lasagna and ice cream.
