Final day in paradise….

1

Today I woke up with one thing on my mind. This was the last day in paradise.. Today was all about service. We visited VISAR, which stands for Vigin Islands Search and Rescue. We arrived at the harbor and a pile of donuts awaited us. After taking down all the food in sight we all formed in the boat house. Our job was to clean the boat, the boat house, all the gear in the boat house, and repaint the VISAR center. I was in charge of cleaning the boat, the boat house and the equipment. It was really good to get out there and help the people at VISAR. The employees needed help especially because they are all volunteers. It felt really good to help those who help others. After we cleaned and painted everything, Andrew aka Gerard Butler showed us how to perform CPR, make a splint, and place someone on a moveable stretcher. It was very hot and I got sunburned for the first time on the trip today which kinda stunk. Overall the community service was a good experience. After that we went to the beach to eat lunch and catch some rays (sunrays that is). I continued my sunburn/tan from earlier. It was good stuff. After lunch we and a good amount of chill time until mass. At 5 we headed to mass in this very quaint church. This was a really cool mass because we were the only ones in there and we got to choose the hymns we were going to sing. After mass we headed to Mine Shaft Cafe to have our banquet. It was definitely the best meal and the best times of the trip. The dive BVI staff put together a slide show of all the pictures from the trip. The slideshow was awesome! It was a very emotional night because Jesuit and dive BVI had come really close together. I can’t thank the dive BVI staff enough for all that they did for us. Everything was put together perfectly. Everything went so smoothly. The diving experiences were definitely unforgettable and because of this trip diving in my life will go beyond this trip. Sea Dragon was by far the best boat. My dive group which consisted of Gabe, Brody, Alec Sims, and Casey was the best dive group of all and we shared some good times above and below the water. I’d also like to thank my parents who gave me this opportunity which was unforgettable. Finally I’d also like to thank Dr. Gruninger and Mr. Kirby for everything they did to make this trip work and for all they taught me. I hope we weren’t too much trouble and I hope it was a fun experience for you as well. It’s going to be an early mor ing tomorrow so it’s time to say goodnight.
