BVI DayQuad

2

Today was by far the best day of the trip so far. We awoke at 8 (or 7:30 in my case because of my roommates annoying alarm clock). Instead of going to the normal place to eat breakfast, we went straight to the harbor where breakfast awaited our arrival. After breakfast we headed out into the windy ocean for two scuba sites and a snorkeling site. The first site was the reck of the Rhone. This site was very interesting because it had a lot of artificial reefs on it. There was a lot of small reef fish. Brody and I spotted a huge lobster hiding beneath coral. The dive was very calm and easy. We dropped down to a maximum depth of 77 feet which was pretty sweet. We had a 35 minute surface interval where we ate snacks and then headed to our next dive spot. Our next dive spot was Chronas reef. This reef was really cool. It had a lot of small reef fishes and a lot of larger fish as well. Following our second dive we made our way to Cooper island to eat some very delicious fish and chips. Lunch was great in part because I was starving. After lunch we pulled off from the harbor there and went about 1000 yards away from shore and began to snorkel. The waves had picked up at this point so snorkeling was a bit of a workout. It was fun though because Gabe and I saw a lot of sting rays. After snorkeling we headed back to the harbor where Gabe and I somehow managed to fall asleep on the windiest day yet. Dinner tonight took place at Mad Dogs again. We had mexican food and good times. We watched the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen. Today was by far the best day of the trip. I can’t wait until we get to identify fish and invertebrate species tomorrow.
