The BVI Experience Day 3

Today I was woken up by a very obnoxious alarm at 7:30. I was very tired at this point, especially because I didn’t need to wake up for another thirty minutes. I took a quick shower to wake me up. Unfortunately, that didn’t do anything. When we got to breakfast I quickly asked for a cup of Joe to kick start my day. After breakfast we listened to a presentation given by the one and only Casey. The presentation included information about coral reef reserves and how we are going to identify different fishes, invertebrates, and algae. We are going to be using transect lines, which is a 100 meter line that we will follow and count the certain species in that designated area only. This will help marine biologists on the island collect data about the number of certain species. After we learned about what we will be doing on Friday we all got in the water at Savannah bay and snorkeled. That was so much fun. I saw a lot of cool coral and small coral fish. After snorkeling we headed to the baths which was really cool. The way the boulders formed was really cool because there was just enough space for us to get through to each pool. Once we got to the end of the trail, it opened up into devils bay where we got to swim and hang out. Tonight we went to bath and turtle for dinner which was a very delicious buffet. We shared a lot of laughs and good times. There was a dj that had some quality beats we got to “dance” to. Today was a very fun day and I can’t wait to scuba and snorkel tomorrow.
