First day in the BVI

1

Today was AMAZING. There really isn’t another way to describe it. It was fantastic. We started off the day by waking up at 7:30 and immediately going to breakfast to get briefed on the week. After our briefing we discussed different impacts of humans on marine ecosystems and vice versa. We discussed the different negative implications that humans can have on reefs and the positive implications that they can inflict on reefs. Then we hung out by the pool at the resort that we were eating at. We had lunch and hung out. After lunch we went to the marina to get prepared for our first dive of the week. We went over the different safety rules for the boat and underwater adventures. After all the preparations…we got in the water. The dive was amazing. The water was crystal clear and there were fish and other animals everywhere. The coral was full of life and really cool to look at. We went over the different skills necessary to become Peak Performance Buoyancy divers, then we had a fun dive and swam around Pond Bay. The dive lasted 47 minutes and we went to a max depth of 20 ft. After stripping down out of my wet suit and gear, I sat at the bow of the boat and admired the beauty of the surrounding islands. The view was spectacular. I have honestly never seen anything as cool. Then we returned to the marina, and now I’m here writing to my readers. Today was a great day full of new adventures and new experiences. I am so excited for the rest of the day and the rest of the week. Mom and Dad, you two are missing out….. Oh and of course… Happy 4th!
