Smooth travels

Greetings from Virgin Gorda, BVI.

Everyone was prompt in their arrival at DFW and we had no problems getting into the terminal for an early lunch. 12:45pm came and we finally boarded the plane…something we had waited months to do. After a minor delay due to a bathroom issue on the plane, we left Dallas and headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our flight from San Juan to Tortola/Beef Island was quick and cramped, but we made it safely. Samantha and Andrew (from Dive BVI) were waiting for us outside of customs and escorted us to the boats where Casey and Jeff (also from Dive BVI) were waiting. We put our bags in Sea Monkey and loaded into Sea Lion. These are the boats we will be using for our dives. Samantha had some amazing cookies waiting for us in the boat and Casey passed out cold water – the perfect snack after traveling! A quick front was moving through and it was a fun and exciting 20-30 minute boat ride. The guys loved it. We checked into our homes at Guavaberry Spring homes. There are 5 homes with 3 guys and 1 with 5. The guys are all pretty exhausted from the day and everyone can’t wait for tomorrow. We will be doing some checkout dives and swimming at the Baths. The weather is supposed to be great. The students will be posting tomorrow, so stay tuned!
