First Day of Hawaii

0

Today was the beginning of the first Jesuit Marine Biology trip to Hawaii. After waking up at a crisp 4:00 am, I arrived with the rest of the team, besides JJ, at 5:45 to move through security and get onto the plane at 7:30. After stopping in San Francisco, we continued our journey to Kona. Rising from my nap, I saw the first signs of landing with a volcano and island peaking through the white clouds. Learning about our activities, I am most excited about our hike up into the 28 degree weather at the peak of the summit of Mount Maunakea. I am thrilled that I can hike up with my friends and super excited to be to the highest point from sea level in my life. I can’t wait to see the images I have seen on my phone in real life.
